Overview
Licensed building practitioners (LBPs) and other building professionals now have access to two new seismic resilience modules designed to help strengthen New Zealand homes against earthquakes.
Learn how to strengthen New Zealand homes against earthquakes. This module provides practical guidance for builders when building new homes in Aotearoa to meet seismic safety standards. It has been developed by MBIE, BRANZ, and the Natural Hazards Commission Toka Tū Ake, and the building industry.
Licensed building practitioners can earn one Elective activity point per module by completing each course and uploading the certificate to the LBP portal. These modules support skills maintenance and help build practical knowledge.

How to complete
For casual users: You don’t need to complete the course. Just work through at your own pace.
For building professionals (including LBPs):
To complete both courses, log in and click 'Enrol me' for each one."
You need to complete both seismic modules to get a certificate claim CPD points. Each module counts as one Elective activity point for LBP skills maintenance. To claim your points, download the certificate and upload it to the portal.
